Books You Can Give To Your Friends To Make A Difference (Without Hurting Your Wallet)!

adult, blur, book

I love giving books to friends for a simple reason: I’ve experienced positive change in both personal and business aspects of my life from applying what I learnt from self-help books, so I reckon one of the best ways for me to help people around me is to share with them the same valuable resources that have helped me in my life!

In this post, I would like to share with you 5 top reads that I have personally given to friends (without having to spend a lot of money as these are mass marketplace editions). You can consider getting a few copies of these books from Amazon and give them away as gifts to your friends when you next meet them!

1. The Richest Man In Babylon

I first heard about this book from one of the audio books by the late Jim Rohn , who is a very successful and well-respected businessman and speaker in the United States.

This book teaches us timeless principles to leverage the power of money.

If you are an avid reader of financial books, the ideas in this book may not be entirely new to you. But, for people who are just stepping into the job market or are new in business, this book is definitely a great read for them.

The Richest Man In Babylon is one of the easiest-to-read books about wealth as it is written in parable. If you have a friend who is just starting out in his/her career, I would highly recommend this book!

This book costs only $6 on Amazon.

2. The Quick & Easy Way to Effective Speaking

As a business owner myself, I’d say that speaking is one of the most valuable skills that has helped me to grow my business over the years. Through speaking opportunities, I am able to leverage numbers and share my expertise to many people (rather than one) at a time.

That said, speaking doesn’t come naturally to everyone and it takes time to learn. For me, I took quite some time to be proficient enough to speak in front of big groups and deliver what I have to say in an engaging way.

If I can only think of one book that has helped me to improve my speaking skills, I must say it is The Quick & Easy Way to Effective Speaking by Dale Carnegie.

If you know of someone whose area of work involves public speaking, then this book is an ideal gift for them!

This book costs only $5 on Amazon.

3. The Greatest Salesman in the World

If you are in the sales profession, chances are you have heard of the book, The Greatest Salesman in the World by Og Mandino , which was first published back in 1983.

Today, after 53 reprints, I find that the principles described in this book are still highly relevant in today’s marketplace. Although this book is based mainly upon Christianity, I believe that people from other religious beliefs can also benefit from the wisdom in this book.

I highly recommend this book as a gift to someone who is in sales or are starting their own business!

This book costs only $6 on Amazon.

4. How to Stop Worrying and Start Living

How To Stop Worrying And Start Living is another classic and bestseller by Dale Carnegie. I read this book back then when I was looking for ways to reduce worry during the economy downturn so I can better focus on my business. Today, I still apply the techniques that I learnt from this book to help me stay focused, energized and purposeful when things happen.

One of the most important lessons that I learnt from this book is that when we worry, our immune system will be weakened and our body will tend to fall sick easily. This book teaches us how to think systemically to get ourselves out of the worry zone with real examples and case studies.

This book makes a great gift for anyone because life is always full of ups and downs. We don’t get to talk about these problems with our friends every day, and you never know giving this book to your friend may save someone some day! This book costs only $6 on Amazon!
